I am Debra Abraham, an author, podcast host, community leader, and child and youth care professional whose work has always begun with people and the stories they carry.
For more than three decades, I have walked alongside children, families, and communities. Along the way, my own life asked me to look beneath the roles, the accomplishments, the wounds, and the strength I had learned to perform.
The Sacred Journey: Ancestral Edition is where I tell the truth about that return. It honours the ancestors whose presence and guidance helped lead me back to God, back to truth, and back to the person I was created to be.

02 · The Book
The Sacred Journey: Ancestral Edition traces the path from survival to surrender, from the identities we build to endure, through the fire of truth, and toward a life rooted in faith, wholeness, and purpose.
Blending lived experience, spiritual reflection, and hard-earned wisdom, I invite readers to meet themselves honestly and listen for what has always been true beneath the noise.

In the opening episode, I share where this journey began and why I felt called to give voice to words that first lived on the pages of The Sacred Journey: Ancestral Edition.
Episode · 02
Who am I when I am no longer performing? This episode looks beneath roles, responsibilities, pain, and survival to uncover what has always been true.
04 · Reflections
Short reflections for the moments when truth becomes quiet enough to hear and strong enough to live.
For much of my life, I knew myself through what I could carry. I was the strong one, the dependable one, the one who survived. But strength can become another wall when it leaves no room for tenderness, truth, or rest.
I am learning that identity is not another achievement. It is the slow, sacred uncovering of who I was before fear told me who I had to be.
Peace asked me to stop chasing what had already shown me it could not hold me. Open hands are not empty hands. They are hands no longer gripping what God is asking me to release.
I can love without abandoning myself. I can bless what is leaving and continue forward without needing to force an ending into a beginning.
I once believed healing would make me unrecognizable to my former self. Instead, it has returned me to what was always there: faith, softness, discernment, and the courage to tell the truth without turning it into a weapon.
Coming home is not a destination. It is the daily choice to live in agreement with what my spirit already knows.

I travelled with Elder John across Montana, Wyoming, and South Dakota toward Sundance. I came to listen, honour the land, walk with God, and receive the clarity I needed.
Some gifts are meant to be carried, not explained.

This was not my dance to claim. My calling became clearer: children, families, healing, truth, service, and walking with God.
